Deep dive on AI

Deep dive on AI

I approached this assignment disliking AI, and I still hold that position. Some people depend on AI way too much, and that could help it become normalized, which I personally believe it should not. However, I do believe that if you choose to, you should be able to use it for brainstorming and finding ideas. I found it interesting that while asking AI if it was beneficial for the environment, it kind of gave me a yes-or-no type of answer. When I dug in for more answers, it led me to believe that it is very harmful to the environment because of how much land and water is used to keep it sustained. I would not say I experienced any challenges, but I would say that Chat GPT is more fluid in the way you can use it compared to Grammarly. I also do not like how Grammarly automatically works in every application that you could type in.

I confirm that this post was written by me without using AI-generated text. Any AI tools used were for research, brainstorming, or editing assistance only.

  1. I wish I could have a few more details on your dislike for Chat GPT with it harming the environment since I didn't know that. I would like to know more on the fluidity of it but I see their not that much explain about it, making me a little confused. Beside that though, it is nice to see on the simplicity of what your thoughts on it, it refreshing.

  2. I think that are reasons for disliking AI are valid because students need to learn how to cope without using AI because there will be times where technology will not be accessible to them and they need to be taught the tradition ways of using proper grammar, sentence structure, etc.

  3. It's interesting that you found that AI could be damaging to the environment. I would have never thought that AI could leave that much of an impact. Also, I do think its a bit ironic how AI is considered "all knowing" and is supposed to be used to help inform people but it couldn't give you a simple answer about how it impacts the environment... interesting.
